Become a Volunteer

Volunteering can be an extremely rewarding experience and there are plenty of opportunities at the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary to learn new skills and experience a side of our sanctuary few people get to see.  It is also an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with others and to meet new friends who share your passion. Most importantly, it is a chance to make a real difference to the New Zealand ecology.

Who can Volunteer?

Volunteers come from all walks of life, but must be over 18 years of age in order to comply with health and safety regulations.  The role you choose may depend on availability or fitness restrictions, but whether you decide to donate your time once a month or regularly each week there is bound to be a way for you to help.

Description: If you are a supporter of the sanctuary, enjoy talking to people and would like to share your passion for conservation with the public at large, you would love being a part of this team! We have many opportunities to engage with the community such as staffing stalls at markets, festivals and expos or shifts in our central city campaign office. We offer training so you will be well versed with the objectives of the Trust and able to answer questions that the public might ask. Once added to the team you can put your hand up to attend as many events as suit your schedule.
